Bambi's toast!!

I haven't been here in a while... a long while. I fully intended to write something before now, but you know... Life gets in the way sometimes. I promise I am going to try really hard at being a more prolific blogger. I have a lot I would like to get out and down, just got to figure out which is more important.

I have a major garden problem going on... For the last three nights, I have had a rogue deer making clandestine midnight runs on my corn plants. Every morning, I go out and look at the slowly dwindling plant life in my garden, and I am madder than hell... ready to shoot that f****in' deer. Then night gets here and I'm tired, and my anger and thoughts of revenge all but disappear. Our plan was to sit out with our shotguns at the ready. At the very least, maybe scare the s**t out of him. Yesterday, I chopped up a bar of deoderant soap and threw it all around the garden. Today, shamus and I took about ten wal mart bags (each with a poopy diaper in it) and hung them on the trees and fence posts. Then we put a few BB's in some beer cans, strung them on some baling wire, and hung them on one of the pine trees. It's starting to look like a redneck christmas out there. Needless to say, I guess I'm getting a little desperate. Tonight even with all the diapers and beer cans, we are still going out about every hour to see if anything has been nibbled on. I guess maybe no one could understand the level of frustration I am feeling, unless you have experienced the same kind of thing.

After the first twinge of anger faded, I started thinking... "you know, it's just a deer foraging for a meal. Poor thing. Come on Hager, just let him have a couple stalks of corn." Then it happened again... and again. And I mean, come on... there is 160 acres of corn right across the road. Why is he fixated on MY four little rows of corn? This f****r is either lazy, or he's doing it just to piss me off. Either way, I'm gonna figure out how to get him out of my garden.

Well, gotta go check it now. At least he hasn't munched on much else. Got a few leaves of the cantaloupe, but that's about it besides the corn.
