Taken from an Elvis sightings website! yes... they exist
Elvis PresleySighting:
I work on the City of Louisville sewerage system, we oftentimes catch a glimpse of Elvis paddling a canoe thru the sewers but we can't never catch him, we only wade in the sewers, we don't got no boats so he always gets away before we can get a autograph or try thumping him or whatever. Last week my workmate Carl Chubber took a shotgun down with him on the off chance we'd see the King, well we did, we seen Elvis just canoeing off around a bend singing 'Old Shep' to himself, Carl upped with the gun and blew the back end off of the canoe, the noise of the gunshot was deafening down there, my ears started bleeding. Last we seen of the King he was paddling like crazy while the canoe was sinking fast, man he was in trouble, the rats was swarming round him in the water, they could probably smell the fear, Carl said he only wanted Elvis's autograph for his dog Shep.

What's your Star Trek name?
I can't believe it's been almost a month since I last posted. The garden has completely changed since those last pictures. The corn is pretty much all dead now... in fact I pulled a row of it today to make room for the ever expanding squash and zucchini. That stuff is like a virus. We got a few bags of corn from the garden, but not as much as I had hoped for. We all got busy and some of it matured past the "good" stage before I could pick it. I don't think I will plant as much next year. Gardens are a damn lot of work. When I retire from the 9-5 rat race in the next couple of years, I will have a big garden. Jeffy's sunflowers are BIG. The head of one of them is the biggest I've ever seen. Another has got to be close to ten feet tall although I haven't measured it yet. Tomorrow is the first day of school. I am not sure I am ready to be as busy as I am going to be this month. This evening we took Jeffy to the open house at the grade school and got some great news. We had been told that he would only be going two days a week to pre school this year, but we found out he will be going five days a week. He was thrilled. We are just glad that he will be able to go at all. When Bright beginnings closed the pre school in bucklin so they could add another class in Dodge, Bucklin school was not planning on having any kind of pre school. There were understandably a lot of upset parents, and hugely disappointed that all those kids had spent an entire year going to school and learning so much, and then... nothing. Anyway, we found out about mid summer that the school had gotten a grant and developed a class. I don't know if we upset parents had anything to do with getting it going, but we are grateful that he can go another year before Kindergarten. That is a complete change for me. When Lisa told me that she wanted him to go last year, I was kind of against it... seemed unnecessary. Then I saw how well he was doing and how much he loved it. Now I am a convert. If a pre school is done right, I'm all for it. Luckily whoever developed the school this year was smart enough to get the same teacher. She is amazing and the kids really love her. After we got back, we ate some pizza and watched a couple of episodes of Star Trek NG. The kids love it as much as we do. If anyone had told me a few years ago that I would be such a fan, I would have laughed in their face. Lisa really got me hooked. The kids too. In fact, we all have Star Trek names. I've been trying to remember mine all evening. It all started with Jeffrey. When he was a baby, he had a kind of ridge on his forehead, and Lisa said he looked like a Klingon baby. We decided his Klingon name was Jeffrack. We still call him that sometimes. Then, about a year ago, shortly after the baby was born, we noticed that his ears were somewhat pointed, so we gave him a vulcan name. Someone decided that we should all have names, and that we should all be different species of humanoid. So... Jeffy is Klingon and his name is Jeffrack. Lisa is Betazoid and her name is Lisana. Zane is vulcan and his name is T'zane. Shamus is the only one who's name isn't a play on his own name. Lisa came up with it and somehow it fits him. He is a Ferengi and his name is Damon Putz (that's pronounced day-mon. It's a title... like "captain"). I can't for the life of me remember my Star trek name. I think it was Kylok, but I can't remember what species I was. I know... this whole thing is kinda weird, but we had fun with it. I must pass along some exciting news. Over the weekend, the Imum Pancy crew filmed one of my scenes for "Broken Wind" down at Coldwater lake, and I had a ball. I think this is going to be one FUNNY film. I can't wait to get to the rest of the filming. Shamus even got a small part in it, and he had a lot of fun filming. Well, gotta go. Hopefully it won't be another month before my next entry. By the way Joe... the pictures of the wedding turned out pretty good, I just haven't had a chance to put them on disc yet.
