Holy procrastinator batman...
Well, here it is two months later... and what a two months it has been. I have gotten fully ensconced in my job, started and finished a show ( in which I had the lead), survived Dodge city days, and still found time to be the worlds best husband and father. (no comments Lisa!)
Seriously though... The main reason for not putting down my thoughts the last 2 months has mainly been because of computer problems, which I think I have mostly worked out... on my own. (no thanks to certain, unnamed, computer expert friends who couldn't find the time to help out an old buddy). No sweat though.
I haven't checked on all my pal's blogs yet to see what is up in their minds... only Seth cause he never disappoints. (although I think he must be disgusted with me, cause he took my link off his blog site). Sorry dude.
Time to catch up now. Life has slowed down sufficiently enough to allow some time for fun stuff. You know what they say "all work and no play... just sucks" or something like that.
Dodge city days was great this year. Not a lot of different stuff or anything... just really had a good time with the kids. We always look forward to opening day cause we go to the parade and then head down to the park for tons of BB-Q. The baby was sick that day so us older boys braved the heat without the company of our beautiful woman and little boy. Had a good time though. the rodeo was good this year. Saw a couple of spills that made our hearts skip a beat, and the weather was cool so that was nice.
the highlight for me this year was getting to meet Buck Taylor. I had always wondered about something, and I finally found out: As a mason, I always am very aware when someone else has on their person, the masonic emblem... In the movie tombstone, buck is wearing a masonic emblem around his neck. So when I met him during the trail of fame dedication, I asked him if he was a mason. He said "yes I am... are you?" I think he was surprised that someone noticed and asked him about it. We then had a nice long conversation about other famous masons that he knew, where we joined the lodge, etc. He told me that the character he was playing in the movie, (Turkey Creek Jack) was a mason too. He had done that much research on his character. Anyway... what a great guy. Wish I could have talked with him more.
Not much else going on right now. I should get to bed. 6:30 is coming along fast. Sweet dreams to all. Life is good!
