I've always wanted to try stand-up

I took a birth order personality test (from Marcilee's blog)

You Are Likely A Fourth Born

At your darkest moments, you feel angry. At work and school, you do best when your analyzing. When you love someone, you tend to be very giving. In friendship, you don't take the initiative in reaching out. Your ideal jobs are: factory jobs, comedy, and dentistry.

You will leave your mark on the world with your own personal philosophy.

I can't believe I'm a fan...

Gonna take the kids to see Harry Potter this weekend. I am looking forward to it almost as much as the boys. I never thought I would like the series, but then I watched the first one when Shamus got the DVD for a gift. Now I like them. I suppose I should read the books someday too, but I have a stack of stuff, and it seems like the only time I have to read is at night before bedtime.

We were hoping to do a bonfire this weekend, but it looks like there is just too much going on. One of these weekends we will try to have some people out and light up.

All I need now is a SAG card!

Setting up for a shot! Posted by Picasa

"Broken Wind" premieres January 14 at the civic center. Don't miss it!

Sometimes you feel like a nut...

So, someone finally asked me the other day why I keep a nut on my keychain. I put that on there this summer as a reminder to myself to not take life so seriously. With all the turmoil going on in the world and in our personal and work lives, it's easy to get bogged down in it and find yourself getting grumpy.

In my job, it is especially important that I keep my sense of humor and not get irritated. I'd like to think that my kids at school and even more importantly, my own kids can see in my attitude that the important thing is not what life hands you, but the way you react to it.

Our mantra at school this year is: "The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing." Whenever I feel myself losing sight of the main thing and getting too serious... I just dig my keys out of my pocket, and I remember that it's okay to be a nut, and sometimes it's essential to getting through the day...

plus... it's just the right size to screw on and off the tip of my left pinky finger, so I am never bored in a meeting!

The big FOUR-OH!

Celebrated my bud's 40th BD on Saturday. Karen threw a surprise party... and boy was he surprised. We had told him we were going to be in Denver, so needless to say he was shocked when he saw Lisa and I there. This is the last shot of the night. Good friends are a treasure! Remind me sometime and I'll tell the story of how we met twenty one (oh my God...) years ago. Happy Birthday buddy... I'm not there quite yet!
